Raising Awareness About the Value of our Natural Resources
Planet Centric Media is (a 501 c) 3) non-profit created in 2024 that is developing and producing media (such as radio shows, podcasts, conferences, webinars, and film productions) to elevate awareness and action on environmental concerns facing our ability as humans and other mammals and creatures to live on this planet we call Earth.
Projects
Media and events are produced in association with KGUA 88.3FM, a public radio station in Gualala, Mendocino County, CA and a project of Native Media Resource Center (NMRC.)
This radio show and podcast features worldwide speakers who talk about critical issues and positive actions. In particular, they address how nature based economies and protective areas (like MPAs, marine protected areas, and marine sanctuaries) can help rebalance Earth. Hosts are audio/visual producer Leigh Anne Lindsey founder of Sea Storm Studios, along with Scott & Tree Mercer of the Mendonoma Whale & Seal Study (which studies marine mammals along the Northern Sonoma and Southern Mendocino coasts of California.) Together they interview guests in a 54 minute talk radio format that airs on public radio and is available on most podcast platforms.
October 18, 2024 from 9AM-2PM Pacific
Planet Centric Media, Sea Storm Studios, and Mendonoma Whale & Seal Study produce and host the annual Ocean Life Symposium which is simulcast live on KGUA public radio, online at KGUA.org, and on KGUA’s YouTube channel. Local and national ocean experts present on various topics, including protection for fragile marine ecosystems and sensitive coastlines (speakers are from organizations like The Ocean Foundation, Ocean Conservation Research, Aeon for Ocean, and the Audubon Society). The next symposium is Friday October 18, 2024 from 9AM-2PM Pacific.
